And → Tutorial, Open Source Grok, Prompt Share, and more!

Welcome back, my AI-obsessed friends.

Shake off the sleep and have a coffee—it’s Tuesday. This is the latest issue of /Imagine, your go-to source for the freshest news and developments in AI. Here’s EVERYTHING you need to know. Let’s dive in…

👀 Midjourney Drops Character Reference Tool

Midjourney's Character Reference tool is about to become your new best friend. This powerful feature allows you to create consistent characters across multiple generations, making it perfect for developing brand assets, visualizing yourself in different roles, or simply letting your imagination run wild.

Here's how to use it:

  1. Log in to Midjourney: Access Midjourney through their alpha site (if you have access) or via Discord. The tool works seamlessly on both platforms.

  2. Select a reference image: Choose an image you want to use as a reference, preferably from a previous Midjourney generation. This ensures better compatibility compared to images from the web. If you're using Discord, write your prompt followed by --cref followed by the image URL to your prompt. On the alpha site, simply drag and drop the image and select the new icon resembling a person.

  3. Adjust the intensity: Use the character weight (--cw) slider to fine-tune the reference strength. The slider ranges from 0 to 100. Set it to 0 if you want to significantly alter the reference's hair or clothing, or to 100 if you aim to closely match the previous photo.

  4. Blend multiple characters: Want to mix references? You can blend multiple characters by adding their URLs with --cref URL1 URL2.

  5. Generate your work: Once you've set up your references and adjusted the intensity, hit submit and watch Midjourney work its magic.

With Midjourney's Character Reference tool, you have the power to create consistent characters effortlessly. Whether you're developing brand assets that require a consistent model or transforming yourself into an astronaut, this feature opens up a world of possibilities. It also works with niji v6 model for generating consistent anime characters.

Keep in mind that this feature is still in beta, and it's expected to improve over time. Embrace the opportunity to experiment and refine your creations.

Good luck creating. I hope this helps! ✌🏼
