🎤 Drake's AI Diss Track

And → Llama 3, Tesla AI, New Tools, Prompt Share, and more!

Welcome back, my friends.

Shake off the weekend — it’s Monday. Before we begin, I want to apologize for the unexpected outage last week. As a one-person operation, I had to prioritize dealing with the aftermath of a massive flood that hit my home. But fear not, we're back and ready to dive into the latest news, tutorials, tools, and developments in AI.

🏆 Llama3 Crowned as the New King of Open-Source LLMs

The Bytes:

✣ Meta launches Llama3, featuring 8B and 70B parameter models, available now with an 8k context length.

✣ Trained on a staggering 15 trillion tokens using a ridiculous custom-built 24k GPU cluster, Llama3 is blowing people’s minds.

✣ Benchmarks reveal Llama3 outshines all open-source competitors and lands near the top of the LLM leaderboard right behind OpenAI.

✣ Anticipation builds as Meta promises more versions of Llama3 in the coming months, expanding the AI’s reach and versatility.

Why you should care: Llama3’s release is not just another incremental update; it’s a giant leap for open-source AI technology. With Meta’s massive distribution and these new and advanced models, Llama3 is poised to bring a new swath of users to AI. As Meta continues to push the envelope with upcoming versions, we’re witnessing the shaping of an AI landscape where the tools are as limitless as our imagination. Keep an eye on Meta. They aren’t playing around.

Here’s a compelling interview with Zuck where he defends open-source.

🎤 AI Takes the Mic: Drake’s Viral Diss Track Helps Usher in a New Era

The Bytes:

✣ Drake’s new diss track featuring AI-generated vocals of Tupac and Snoop Dogg goes viral, showcasing AI’s potential in music.

✣ The track, “Taylor Made Freestyle,” has sparked conversations about the future of AI in the music industry.

✣ According to MIT, the acceptance of AI-generated tracks has seen a 600% increase, with AI tools used in about 70% of mainstream music production now.

Why you should care: As AI-generated vocals make their way into mainstream music, we’re witnessing a revolution that’s reshaping the industry. Tools like Udio and Suno are my favorite tools at the forefront, providing creators with unprecedented capabilities to experiment and innovate. Whether you’re an artist looking to explore new horizons or a music enthusiast curious about the future of sound, Udio and Suno are worth checking out.

🚗 Tesla’s Bold Move: Full Self-Driving Now More Accessible

The Bytes:

✣ Tesla slashed the price of its AI-powered Full Self-Driving (FSD) software to $8,000, down from $12,000, and introduced a $99/month option.

✣ The price adjustment makes advanced AI driving features more accessible to a broader range of customers.

✣ FSD’s capabilities include navigating streets and highways, responding to traffic signals, and automatic parking.

✣ Tesla’s commitment to self-driving tech is evident as it aims to lead the transition to autonomous vehicles. This is all ahead of their robo-taxi announcement on 8/8 this year.

Why you should care: Imagine a future where ALL the cars on the road drive themselves, and steering wheels are relics of the past. Tesla’s price reduction for its FSD software isn’t just a discount; it’s a step towards that autonomous future. A world where AI not only drives us safely but also reshapes our cities, economies, and the very fabric of daily life. Our children might one day find the concept of ‘driving’ quaint and ask us what it was like when humans actually drove cars. With Tesla making self-driving technology more attainable, and gathering more data from FSD miles, that future might be closer than we think.

I recently got a free month of FSD, and I have been pretty blown away by it. The pace of progress is incredible, and it only seems to be getting better and better. My wife jokes that it’s a safer driver than me now.

I decided to ditch my usual Midjourney routine and take ChatGPT's DALL-E for a spin. The mission? Create a dope Dr. Dre action figure/collectible. Let me tell you, the new in-chat functionality and area selection is pretty damn impressive. For this, I continually wanted to tweak and fine-tune specific details. Using chatGPT and natural language to craft the image through a conversation was awesome.

The lesson here? Don't be afraid to mix it up and try new (or old) tools.

Let me know what you think!

Stay curious, my friends. Love you all. Have a great day!✌🏼
