✣ OpenAI introduced Voice Engine, a model in development since 2022 that is capable of generating natural-sounding speech from text and a quick 15-second sample of someone’s voice.

✣ Voice Engine has powered preset voices in OpenAI’s text-to-speech API, ChatGPT Voice, and Read Aloud. Early adopters include HeyGen and Age of Learning.

✣ They have expressed concern with this technology, hence why they have been so slow to roll it out. All of their partners have agreed to abide by their usage policies banning the ability to impersonate people or organizations.
